Feedback on performance important for employee motivation, says PR consultant Paulina Phuar

“One of most common faults of management is not to give recognition for good efforts by employees,” says Paulina Phuar, a prominent PR consultant (pix above). “In tandem with this due recognition, honest feedback spurs an employee’s motivation. For instance, Bangsar Shopping Centre has one of the cleanest toilets in the city compared to other malls because efforts are given due recognition. There is a sign inside every toilet that announces the name of the toilet cleaner and a phone number for praise and complaints. That’s what I call good management. And also good PR.”
