Foodtique’s claim to “best roast duck in the world” is baloney!

Bangsar’s Foodtique boasts on its signboard that the Financial Times has rated its roast duck as the best in the world.

So I ordered its roast-duck-and-chicken-rice combination (RM13.90) and waited with much anticipation and bated breath for it to arrive. The dish, presented quite nicely, was served rather quickly.

Sheesh! They can’t even cook the rice perfectly as it was too hard -— not enough water. As for the roast duck, it was just slightly above average. Roast duck at Sze Ngan Chye in Kepong and Restoran Ng Woo Kee in Taman Ehsan are better, not to mention the three stalls at Lorong Yap Hin, Pudu, KL.

Update on Dec 22, 2014: Foodtique has either closed or shifted.
