Mail Mee Rebus at Taman Melawati a five-star winner

While doing an article on top mee rebus stalls in KL for NST, I stumbled upon Mee Rebus Mail & Nasi Kandar Penang (possibly, a short form for “Ismail”) at Taman Melawati. Brightly-lit nasi kandar dishes in glass cases are the attention-grabbers but the gem of this stall is its mee rebus. The dish consists only of standard ingredients, but the smooth gravy is its prowess. Mild and slightly sweet and oozing an undertone of spices but not hot, it clings to the noodles with the right thickness. The prawn fritters has a fluffy crispiness with the right balance between batter and prawns. I rate Mail Mee Rebus 5/5. (I’ve also eaten at the much-hyped Rosli Mee Rebus but I give it only 4/5.)
