Nam Heong and Kam Kee serve the best steamed-chicken-rice (aka Hainanese chicken rice) in Chinatown. Air-conditioned, Nam Heong also offers a variety of soups, assam fish and bean sprouts.
At fan-ventilated Kam Kee, one can get non-commercially-bred chicken but it is expensive. The regular chicken is sold out pretty quickly, so the stall closes at around 3pm.
Nam Heong and Kam Kee are located at Jalan Sultan, near the Five Elements Hotel. Open–air parking is available at the end of Jalan Sultan where the road bends.
