“You can get an online American degree almost free,” says career guidance teacher Cathy. “And it’s nationally accredited too.”

“Who wants to earn an online accredited American degree?” career guidance teacher Cathy asks, her tight shirt dress straining at the buttons.

All hands in the classroom shoot upward, their arms as skinny as broomsticks.

“That glossy shit-paper’s expensive, even from a private online school. For instance, a bachelor’s degree from California Southern University, California Miramar University or California Intercontinental University will damage your Pop’s wallet by RM200,000. Or more, depending on our exchange rate.”

“Holy shit,” says a gruff voice at the back of the class.

“But there’s a lesser-known university that’s tuition-free but not totally free though. Its pro is that it’s nationally accredited. Meaning its degrees are recognized by the US Department of Education. Its con is that it’s got a shitty name.”

The students jerk upright in their chairs, faces lit up, eyes twinkling with interest. “No shit? Jesus, which college?” asks the same gruff voice which spoke earlier.

“University of the People. A bachelor’s will knock you back USD4,800 or RM22,000 plus. That’s a steal for an American degree. Programs are in business administration, health science, computer science and education. For details, hop into the school’s website.” Cathy turns, snatches a chalk with red-tipped fingers and writes on the blackboard.

All male students’ eyes stray to her tight ass adjoining broad hips that taper to a wasp-thin waist and to the university’s website address on the blackboard.
