Qingming falls on April 4, 2021. In olden China, during the Tang era (618-906 AD), the festival consisted of more than just tomb-sweeping and the offering of food, fruits and wine to ancestors. Outdoor activities such as picnics, flying of kites and playing cuju were also popular.
