“The US has 750 military bases overseas; China, only eight!” Mummy Lulu snorts. “So, who’s the war-monger?”

“Bongbong Marcos is a slice of the old stinky pizza Ferdinand, his late father—an unreliable flimflamer.” Mummy Lulu narrows her eyebrows. “After securing agreements for China to import more rice, durians -- please watch his speech -- mangosteens and other agricultural produce during his visit in January 2023, he has now allowed US to set up four additional military bases in the Philippines, making a total of nine.”  The mama-san’s eyes become as cold as shiny marbles.

“As a result, the US has encircled China in the South China Sea with military bases, stretching from South Korea and Japan in the north to Australia in the south."  The funky old lady flattens her lips.  “Bah! Talk about ingratitude! Bongbong’s jabber about his committing to regional peace and stability and deepening of friendship with China is Devil-cursed PR garbage! On the other hand, Rodrigo Duterte was a God-blessed straight arrow in foreign policy.”  Mummy Lulu pauses to moisten her lips.

She continues, “David Vine, anthropology professor of American University in Washington DC, and author of The United States of War says, “That’s precisely the wrong direction we should be going in… We need to be drawing down our military presence in the region while building up our diplomatic presence…A war with China can spin out of control into a nuclear war that can literally threaten human existence on earth.”
