Morib Beach tranquil but boring
[Pixs copyright Ewe Paik Leong]
Morib Beach, an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur, is only worth a trip if you want to kill time on a weekend. The short stretch of beach is boring with nary any exciting activity. There are kite vendors, seafood stalls and a children's playground. One can dig for kepah or clams when the tidé is down. Troops of monkeys scampering in the children's playground and occasionally fighting with stray cats is the only other source of amusement. The beach-front seafood stalls are nothing fantastic but economical. However, further from the beach are other restaurants like Rashid Tom Yam, Arina Seafood, Frenz Sizzle Station, Seri Seafood (looks enticing with thatched huts), Pa Ya Sate, Kerepek House (get freshly fried crackers from this workshop), and Morib Seaview Restaurant to name but a few. Surprisingly, Morib Beach looks picturesque at sunset.
