Kuala Lumpur's Jalan Raja Alang is a fruits paradise

When buying fruits, many Chinese would head for Petaling Street in the heart of Chinatown. However, the freshest, "bestest" and cheapest fruits are from the stalls along Jalan Raja Alang. The variety ranges from salak to soursop, sweetsop, rambutan, mango, mangosteen, papaya, longan, lychee, durian, apple, orange and many more. (Look at the actual picture above and you will see what I mean.) Where to park cheaply? An open-air car park that is ten minutes' walk away is available. It's behind Regency Hotel but it's hidden from view from Jalan Raja Alang. To get there, go to Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and turn left to Jalan Dewan Sultan Sulaiman. Take the first left again along a narrow lane, and you can see the car park ahead. The charge is only RM2 per hour. A back lane leads to Jalan Raja Alang, the fruits paradise of Kuala Lumpur.
